Histoires de Cheveux

aka Hair Stories (1998-2001). Someway, somehow, a museum in France found my hair project. Hair Stories will be on view this fall through next spring at the Muséum-Aquarium de Nancy, in their newly renovated building as part of a larger exhibition on hair. The full set of 50 will be printed life-size and exhibited in a long timeline. I love the idea of a natural history/science museum (and aquarium!) as a place to show my specimens, my documentation, my histories. The exhibition is called “POILS: du poil de la bete au poil au menton,” which means, roughly, “FUR: from hairy beasts to chinny chin chins.” I might have made that last part up. See more about my project here: HAIR STORIES.
